Christmas Bonfires on the Levee

Thousands of children line the levees as their parents' light huge bonfires that guide the way for Le Pere Noel (Father Christmas). New Year's in New Orleans

Mouth of the Mississippi

Mouth of the Mississipi See Mile Zero at the Head of Passes and the place where the mighty Mississippi opens wide. Visit historic Fort Jackson, La., a sentinel that has stood watch over the area since 1832. We'll share the story of Pilottown, La., a historic location where the exchange of duties from one pilot group to the other takes place. Relax and enjoy this very rare river adventure.

Keeneland Horse Racing Two great ways to travel, two important roles in American history. Explore the history of river and rail travel and how the marriage of the two connected the eastern seaboard with the west, allowing goods to be transported across great distances for the first time. Come along with us for some very scenic barging on the Ohio River. We'll hop aboard an operating railroad museum and take a scenic ride. You'll have barge loads and train loads of fun!
