| On behalf of RiverBarge Excursion Lines, Inc. (REL), we are excited to learn of your interest in employment with our company. Whether you are interested in the Marine or the Hospitality industry, we are sure to have just the right place for you in our family.
The 198-guest R/B River Explorer travels America's rivers and inland waterways on 4 to 10 day excursions, exploring the heritage of nearby towns and cities in a relaxed and casual setting. RiverBarge Excursion Lines, Inc. gives guests the chance to see America differently as we go Barging Through America®. As a crewmember on the R/B River Explorer, you will share this incredible experience with the guests who join us for a truly unique excursion. Our mission is to fulfill our guest's dreams by providing them with a once in a lifetime experience. Being a crewmember aboard an overnight excursion vessel is a rewarding challenge. We must be able to offer a relaxed casual atmosphere, but also provide unparalleled guest service with attention to detail. It is essential that crewmembers are flexible and able to get along well with others. Working aboard the R/B River Explorer is similar to working in a deluxe hotel, only on water with crewmembers living aboard the barge. Depending on your work schedule, crewmembers have the opportunity to explore the various ports of call and even join guests on shore activities as an escort. The River Explorer travels to seven regions on America's inland waterways. On The Route of Jean Lafitte excursions we visit towns like New Orleans, LA, Galveston, TX, and Port Isabel, TX on the Lower Mississippi and the Inland Texas-Louisiana Gulf Intracoastal Waterway. Our Delta South excursions barge on the Lower Mississippi between New Orleans, LA, and Memphis, TN. The River Explorer barges on the Atchafalaya River and the Lower Mississippi for our Cajuns and Creoles excursions. We barge between Memphis, TN, and St. Louis, MO, on the Upper Mississippi River for The Arch and The Pyramid excursions. Our Expanding Frontiers excursions take us to towns like Nashville, TN, as we travel on the Cumberland River. We barge on the Ohio River for our America's Junction excursions as we visit towns like Ripley, OH, Huntington, WV, and Cincinnati, OH. Our "Show Me" The Big Muddy excursions explore the Missouri River Valley where the Lewis and Clark expedition began as we call on towns like St. Charles, MO, and Kansas City, MO. The R/B River Explorer is composed of two barges and the towboat Miss Nari, its source of propulsion. It stretches over seven hundred feet (over 2 football fields long!). The lead barge, named for the explorer DeSoto, houses the public areas consisting of the Purser's Lobby, Sprague Theater, the Galley (our dining room), the kitchen, the Galvez Library, the Crevasse Bar and crew staterooms. The second barge, named for the explorer LaSalle, is the location of our 98 identical staterooms plus one suite capable of housing 198 guests. The LaSalle Barge is also home to the Bridge Bar, Exercise Room, Hot Tubs, shuffleboard and Jogging Track all located up top on the open Sky Deck. We invite you to further explore employment with us! And, if you decide we make a good match, please fill out the online application. We look forward to hearing from you. |
